Jesse
Rosen (JON) (Writer/Director/Actor)
After graduating from Emerson College in 2004 with a BFA in writing,
literature and publishing, Jesse moved to Los Angeles to work in the
film and television industry. In 2006, Jesse’s short film “Hold Music”
was accepted into the Sacramento Film Festival. This is Jesse’s first
feature film. He currently resides in New York City, where he is
developing his second feature, “Touch of Grey.”
Rachel Castillo (Maddy)
Rachel attended Emerson College where she
studied drama. Upon
graduation, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career.
Rachel is extremely excited about making her feature debut in “The Art
of Being Straight.” .
Laurence Ducceschi (Executive
Producer)
Laurence began his work in film with Malpaso Productions on “Midnight
in the
Garden of Good and Evil.” Since that time, he has held staff positions
in
programming and development at CBS Entertainment and at Fox Television
Studios
as a producer/writer on various series and specials for A&E, AMC,
Fox Movie
Channel, and Animal Planet. He has
worked as a field producer for “NBC News” and “The Today Show” and is
currently
Vice President of Production for von Zerneck/Sertner Films, a Los
Angeles based
production company, where recent projects have included, “Ambulance
Girl,”
“Category 7: The End of the World,” “Vampire Bats,” “Queen Sized,”
“Racing for
Time,” “The Circuit,” “Girl, Positive” and “Flirting with 40.” He is
also a
member of the digital filmmaking & video production advisory
council for
the Art Institute of California and a guest lecturer for the film and
film/media studies department at UC Riverside.
Amy
Wasserman (Producer)
Amy graduated from Emerson College in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in
Film. After moving to Los Angeles, she worked on
the Emmy-nominated “Project Greenlight” and “Project Runway.”
From there she transitioned into the feature
world and spent two years at Walden Media (“The Chronicles of
Narnia”). “The Art of Being Straight” is her first
feature.
Ursala
Camack (Producer)
Ursula graduated from Emerson College in 2004. After moving to Los
Angeles, she has worked on various films, television shows and
commercials. “The Art of Being Straight” is her first feature.
Aaron
Torres (Cinematographer)
A 2005 MFA graduate from USC specializing in cinematography. He has
over 15 years of lighting experience and is the recipient of the ASC
Charles Lang Cinematography Scholarship. He has shot many award winning
shorts and music videos in 35mm and HD in the Los Angeles area. “The
Art of Being Straight” was his debut feature film as cinematographer.
Continuing his career, his next project was a half a million-dollar
caper film called “The Assistants.”
Rob
Schulbaum (Editor/Associate Producer)
Graduated from Emerson College in 2004 with a New Media degree. He has
written and directed two features of his own, “Fallout” and “Action
Flick.” Rob and director Jesse Rosen were roommates in college, and
have collaborated several times before on short films. He is currently
an editor for “Family Guy.”
Matthew Studivan -
The Musical Theatre (Composer - Original Songs)
Musician Matthew Studivan completed his first album “Concentrate!?”
this year, from which many of the songs featured in the film originate.
His other band, No Pilots No Demos, created two songs for the film’s
soundtrack as well. Matt and director Jesse Rosen were roommates at
Emerson College.

Karuna
Karmarkar (Production Designer) A recent graduate of
UCLA’s School of Theater Film & Television. She has since designed
a number of short films, commercials and music videos in the Los
Angeles area. “The Art of Being Straight” was her debut feature film as
a production designer.
